Eat to live, don’t live to eat. We eat food so that we can provide our bodies with essential nutrients to keep it moving. We only need so many calories a day depending upon our age, weight and activity level. The average woman is only supposed to consume 2000 calories a day. This is only an average and as mentioned, changes depending upon those three factors listed. Why is it then, that so many Americans are overeating and developing diseases such as heart disease and diabetes? Preventable diseases. Well the answer is simple. People live to eat, not eat to live.I was looking for more information and found it here. Although the answer is simple the solution isn’t. We have to get to the source of the issue and figure how why this is. I believe that people eat for different reason. Some of us eat out of boredom, when we get depressed, and sometimes when we are lonely. Food should never be used to fill a void. Emotional eating will only make matters worse when your weight becomes another issue added to your preexisting issues. The key is to find out the reason behind your eating habits and tackle them head on. Never use food as a substitution. Food is not bad it is necessary, It only becomes an issue when people live to eat instead of eating to live.

Soup is a health food staple. It is easy to make, can be made with whatever you have in the house, and is cheap to make as well. Of course, it is healthy, when you use the right ingredients.

Start with a low sodium chicken or vegetable broth. You can use as much or as little as you would like to make. If you have the capacity, make a large amount and freeze in individual containers.

Have on hand: fresh vegetables, especially carrots, celery, onion, potatoes, green beans, and canned staples such as beans, small pasta shapes, brown rice or barley. The whole story can be found at http://jgirlatlaw.wordpress.com/2011/07/05/just-like-lellis/ (fast cooking is okay!) Canned tomatoes or tomato paste can add color and nutrition to any soup.

Soup can be made vegetarian, or you can simmer some chicken in your broth. Cut up your fresh vegetables and throw them in. Let simmer for thirty minutes or so. Add tomatoes or tomato paste, if desired. Cook barley, rice or pasta in another pot to avoid thickening the soup. Easy, healthy soup rich in vitamins and fiber. Rinse canned beans and add to soup. Add garlic, pepper, dill or other spices to taste, and you have an easy, inexpensive custom made soup.

This is a common question amongst dieters, and the simple answer is yes. By limiting sugar and simple carbohydrates, the foods allowed on the Atkins diet forces the body to turn to burning fat stores for the energy you need to function daily.

Atkins has received a bad rap by some. However, when followed correctly, it provides plenty of vegetables, fruits, meats, and complex carbohydrates. The older version of Atkins was quite restrictive. However, the newest book release offers dieters many more options.

The beauty of Atkins is that portion control takes care of itself. By getting plenty of protein and fiber, you will quickly find that you are not always hungry. Additionally, once you are off the sugar roller coaster, you will find that your sugar levels even out, and do not leave you feeling as hungry as you did when you had extreme fluctuations.

The Atkins diet can be used to lose a few pounds, or a few hundred. It is hard to argue with success, and that is just what thousands of people have experienced while on this program. To achieve the best results, follow the program as directed, drink plenty of water, and if you are physically able, exercise.

It seems as if all Hollywood stars are think and perfectly fit. Some of them look great and others appear to be a bit on the famished side. Inquiring minds are wanting to know how these stars are staying thin but the answer is not simple.

Different stars use different methods to stay thin. Some of them have their own special diet they go by and it is paired up with a good exercise plan. They are involved in legitimate, healthy weight loss programs. Other stars are having surgeries such as gastric banding done which is questionable to their health.

Unfortunately, some of the Hollywood stars that we look up to are getting involved with drugs. Drug addiction is a definite way to lose weight because all of the money and time is spent doing drugs and not paying attention to eating healthy. When a person is on a drug or alcohol binge it could last days so perhaps these people are not eating for days at a time.

Some of our celebrities are just plain not eating. They have no drug addiction but they are afraid the touch food for fear of a ruined body. This is not good.More info here: Torture of Iranian Child by His Drug Addicted Mother Pictures
